California Roundel (What Madness Is This)

This is one of several fictional air force roundels I've created for What Madness Is This ?, an alternate history written by my AH.com colleague Napoleon53.

In-universe, due to the early collapse of the United States, the historical development of California has been different in many ways. By sheer dumb luck, it had become an oveseas ally of the rising Tripartite Empire and managed to cling to a sense of independence throughout the 19th century. The Bonapartist and francophone influences have left their mark on this allohistorical California, making it as much francophone as hispanophone and anglophone. Later during its Tripartite Empire backed independence, California's economy and wealth had grown confident enough to establish small, but modern armed forces, including an air force. The roundel features traditional, bear-related and star-related Californian imagery, which also appears on the country's flag (it's very different to the one from our history, but shares some of the iconography).
